I used to commute on 128, (what locals call that stretch of I-95) not through Wakefield*, but near it, and do not recall ever seeing a state trooper on patrol. Damned near unpoliced, unless they are driving in unmarked cars. Something might have triggered the Staties interest.
*My wife and I had our first date in Wakefield in 1981.
I used to go from Natick to Wilmington a couple of times a week. I did that for a few years.
Even now if my wife and I are driving into Boston, as soon as I hit the 95 exit of the pike, I lean over and tighten my grip.
80 MPH, 3 feet from the car next to you. Maybe a car length in front of you.
