I was stationed at NAS Alameda in 69’ and went to Oakland to see a movie. I was standing out front when three Hell’s Angels pulled up and said ‘you need to leave now, it’s not safe for you here’. They waited with me till the bus came.

The Alameda County Fair in Pleasanton used to have a wonderful July 4th celebration until the BART station opened and gangs from Oakland and Richmond started to show up.

The first year after the BART station opened ended with gunfire at the midway rides, and the fair closed at 6:00pm on all Independence Days since then.
