Yes, he is a hypocrite if he acts on his homosexuality to the degree that he demands and gets public sanction for it through relationship recognition by any government. That is reserved for marriage. Sorry, but you don’t know your homo friend as well as you think you do.

I think you're wrong - my friend was against the wall. His partner of 30 years would have been denied residency. They had spent years in Italy busting their asses to turn a pile of rocks in the countryside into an impressive business. Without doing a civil union they'd have been ruined. They "demanded" nothing from the government but they sure pay the corrupt government here a ridiculous amount of taxes. In fact, the immigration officer was the one that told them that entering into a civil union was the only solution for both of them to remain in the country. I know these guys well. They are good, honest, hardworking men. If you knew them you'd likely conclude the same thing, unless you're one of those folks who judges someone mainly based on their sexuality. In that case, you'd be no better than a leftist who dislikes White people just because they are White.
