Because he is embarrassed that his fellow citizens listen to obvious liars without question. You cannot remain free if you don’t have even a bit of skepticism. There has for years been ample evidence that masks are worthless for a respiratory virus. Yet, the liars still lie and the sheep still go along. It has to be sorta like watching a family member join a cult and waste their life. Embarrassing.
