So, you see how the electors and not the people elect the president. A billion people could have voted for President Trump, but if the electors all decided that Bill Gates should be president, then the person inaugurated would be Bill Gates, at least at the federal level.

That is likely the craziest scenario I've seen on my time on Free Republic, and believe me that's saying a lot.

Yes, it’s crazy, but it’s just an extreme example.

We can only trust that the electors do the right thing when it’s their turn to vote. After they vote and it’s certified, the process is complete. I suppose some Biden elector can go to court and say they were fooled by fraud and want to change their vote, but that isn’t a thing that would ever happen.
