LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - Britain is starting to plan for a COVID-19 vaccine booster campaign starting later this year after top vaccine advisers said it might be necessary to give third shots to the elderly and most vulnerable from September.
The government said that a final decision on whether a vaccine booster campaign was needed had not been made, but officials had advised that preparations should begin on a precautionary basis.

Three shots? Pikers. Why not 365 shots?
Well we know that the animal trials suffered when confronted with the natural virus. So it looks like all who took these may be boarding the “boosters for life” train.
If two won’t kill, Maybe three will!
“we know that the animal trials suffered when confronted with the natural virus.”
but we saw the opposite in humans, tho - those who had the virus and caught it again, had milder cases. Same for breakthrough infections on vaccinated - milder. Otoh, when animals catch it (from humans), they can die, and can transfer the virus to same species.
Maybe, human vaccinations, are helping save critters?
“Recent experimental research shows that many mammals, including cats, dogs, bank voles, ferrets, fruit bats, hamsters, mink, pigs, rabbits, racoon dogs, tree shrews, and white-tailed deer can be infected with the virus.
Cats, ferrets, fruit bats, hamsters, racoon dogs, and white-tailed deer can also spread the infection to other animals of the same species in laboratory settings.
A number of studies have investigated non-human primates as models for human infection. Rhesus macaques, cynomolgus macaques, baboons, grivets, and common marmosets can become infected with SARS-CoV-2 and become sick in a laboratory setting....”
“There is some evidence suggesting that laboratory mice, which could not be infected with original strains of SARS-CoV-2, can be infected with new virus variants.
