U.S. officials are sounding the alarm on China’s growing nuclear arsenal. Specifically, the State Department voiced concern over the rapid expansion. During a press briefing on Thursday, State Department spokesperson Ned Price urged Beijing to reduce its nuclear arms.
According to a Washington Post report on Wednesday, Chinese officials have started construction on roughly 100 new missile silos located in a western desert region of the country. Price said the build-up of China’s nuclear arsenal is concerning and is raising questions on their intentions.

"US Officials" are way out of touch.
Wow! “Concern”; I’m so impressed! China must feel so humiliated now!
Who supplied the plans for the missiles ?
Someone here should make a gif of the butcher who currently rules China (”Xi” IIRC) laughing with the letters ROTFL-MAO below.
General Milley doesn’t care. He’s too busy trying to root out conservatives from the Army.
Trump wouldn’t sign a nuke deal that didn’t include China.
Buythem went ahead and signed a deal with Russia only.
Now the US is under its own restrictions - but China isn’t. Brilliant strategic thinking by the lefties.
IMO every bloody Chinese citizen who enters this country is a spy. Some will be actual Chinese agents, some will be those who want to “serve the revolution” and others will be unwilling spies who’ve been told by the government “give us what we want lest something bad happens to your family”.
There are enough nuclear warheads on our constantly patrolling sub fleet to totally lay waste to any nation or combination of nations ability to make war.
The only thing preventing us from doing just that if we are attacked would be lack of will (cowardice).
And we won't have the option to intern them like we did the Japanese during WWII, that would be racist, don'cha know.
Yeah that concern will stop them.
Beat me!
What is sad is that Biden gave away any US bargaining on nukes with his deal with Russia. Very, very stupid thing to do.
Wrong. The more missiles they have means they can overwhelm our defenses (if the democrats have left us any) and destroy our military and cities, depriving us of the will to use our nukes.
“Sternly-worded letter”? I see massive loss of face there!
“Wrong. The more missiles they have means they can overwhelm our defenses (if the democrats have left us any) and destroy our military and cities, depriving us of the will to use our nukes.”
I did say “if we had the will” to use our advantage and it is a huge one I am sure the Chicoms are well aware of.
BTW even if the used a first strike strategy and obliterated every military installation we had it would not prevent the subs from launching due to the fail safe built into their orders. These submarines do not require a specific order to launch.
“ urged Beijing to reduce its nuclear arms”
That’s right. Keep urging until they change their ways.
One of my billets in my last USMC squadron was as the NBC Warfare officer, jokingly referred to as “No Body Cares”, referring to the lack of interest in Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Warfare.
America’s ruling elite are failing to realize/acknowledge that we have been the recipient of a Chinese Biological Warfare attack. Possibly the first of several to follow.
Why should the Chinese “nuke the infrastructure”, which could provoke nuclear retaliation, when they can lob a simple, relatively mild Biological weapon and we simply shoot ourselves in the foot, roll over and play dead.
No need for weaponized Anthrax, Ebola, etc!
Then we open our Southern border to all sorts of nefarious agents mingling with the “tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed”.
Perhaps our Elite need to reread the Time Traveler and examine the relationship between the Eloi and the Morlocks.
