On July 1, 2021, the Hennepin County District Court issued a Writ of Mandamus which orders the Minneapolis City Council and Mayor Jacob Frey to “immediately take any and all necessary action to ensure that they fund a police force” of at least 730 sworn officers, or more if required by the 2020 Census to be published later this year, by June 30, 2022.
The City had projected that the Minneapolis Police Department would only have 669 sworn officers as of June 1, 2022, so the order requires the City to take strong, immediate measures to increase its hiring substantially above what it had planned for 2021 and 2022.

Only dikes, transgendered, or other emotionally crippled will be hired. As a result, health care costs will skyrocket and no real useful law enforcement benefit will be achieved. Next, millions will be spent on studies searching for the root cause of the disaster that only liberals can’t understand.

A jurisdiction can have whatever number of cops they are willing to pay for.

Funding police has been determined to be racist, make your choice wisely.
The kind they deserve. What else? Honest? Very doubtful. Honorable? Don’t be funny. But again the kind they deserve. Why? People who live in the Area that compasses the United States of America demand to be ruled by a boot of steel upon the backs of their necks. Else they would not continue to elect members of the Democrat Party to elected Office. They also adore crooks, thieves, and traitors also. This is why they elect members of the Republican Party to Political Office. However, the one thing the voters of America will not tolerate, will not abide with is an honest man. One slipped beneath the radar in the Election of 2016 and was elected President. But once he was discovered, members of both political parties immediately attacked him. The The Republican Party and the Democrat Party joined forces in the Election of 2020 to steal by fraud the election from him. They were successful. As a result of this success. the future course changed from prosperity to sure destruction because they prefer the the leadership of evil. The sheep get all the free hay they are able to eat. All the free sex they can handle. All the medical mary jane they can smoke. Right up to slaughter day. At least they will die happy. Or high.

I have 7 years experience behind the badge, back in the 70’s and 80’s. Third generation. Son is the fourth. Who in their right mind would want to be a police officer in a city where the city leadership does not support the rule of law, and defunds the police?
They will concentrate on hiring individuals of a certain color.
This will not work very well because there are very few who:
- have not been in prison
- aren’t taking drugs
- are in acceptable physical shape
- are able to pass a rudimentary exam on the most basic of topics
So the standards will be lowered again and again. Soon the force will consist of some cops who have been on the force a long time and are waiting for retirement, and who do the actual work, plus incompetents hired for their race and religion who will mess up royally.
You don't have to read every article posted, but if you are going to post about something, at least scan the article to see if there is more information on the specific point about which you are going to post. We get entire threads running on tangents that could have been avoided if people had simply read the article that got them so bent out of shape.
Honestly can't grasp the mindset of people who post without reading the thing about which they are posting.
“If required by the 2020 census” is for insurance purposes, police union contracts, and Federal dollars. There are U.S. cities with sizeable populations that don’t have, nor need a sizeable police force.
The recruits will show up. I hope they have to hire a million. each one from ANTIFA, BLM, the Black Panthers, and muslims. They could not wait to get rid if President Trump. They rejected God's mercy. Let them have God's Judgment.

So if your best team all have the flu, who do you put on the field? Problem is when they start hiring police, they will have to settle in many cases just to fill the roster (quota) with the criminals themselves. Why not get a stipend to do the same crimes the criminals do? For the criminals, that’s good business sense. No one says they have to shoot the murderers or rapists when they can shoot the other direction at the cops at some point which will alleviate the need for a letter of resignation.

I’m a bit unclear on exactly where a court gets the authority to tell a city how many cops to hire.
