Bill will remove statues and busts of Confederacy supporters from Congress
It includes a bust of Roger Taney, the U.S. chief justice best known for his Dred Scott pro-slavery decision The statue of the President of the Confederacy Jefferson Davis will also go
Democrats were unanimous in their support for the bill and were joined by 67 Republicans, with the bill passed by a vote of 285-120
The GOP members who voted against the bill said it was whitewashing history
The vote came after House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy accused Democrats on the House Floor of trying to hide their party's 'shameful' racist past.
'Let me state a simple fact. All the statues being removed by this bill are statues of Democrats,' the Republican leader said, adding that he planned to vote in favor of the legislation. 'I think the bill should go further. Maybe it's time the Democrats change the name of their party.'
McCarthy said the bill showed that the Democrats were 'desperate' to prove that their party has progressed from their 'days of supporting slavery, supporting Jim Crow laws or supporting the KKK.'

I got a feeling ex-Confederate Rooster Cogburn is going to be erased from history.
Most of the statues were commissioned and submitted by the states, and traditionally it was up to the states to replace them if they wanted. Some statues have already been replaced by more modern or politically correct figures.
She really has her finger on the pulse of America. Everyone I know isn't talking about the economy or COVID or the border, but "the bust of Roger Taney in the Capitol." Biggest watercooler topic right there.

I think they’re gonna run out of notable blacks of the caliber of Justice Thurgood Marshall to place statues of. If they put a statue of the career criminal George Floyd up there, I hope there will be a mass protest. Because I don’t want my tax money wasted on a celebration of the life of a career criminal who caused his own death.
