Before the “Delta variant” was it the “Charlie variant” or the “Gamma variant?” I’m trying to figure out the naming convention to see exactly how many more there are to go. Is Echo or Epsilon next?
They went to a letter system after they couldn’t explain why anyone who mentioned that the virus came from China got cancelled but it was okay for them to have a Brazilian variant, an Indian variant, etc. It’s more about placating their Chinese masters.
The WHO decided that it was badthink to refer to the location where each variant was first detected, and decided that they would use the Greek alphabet to name them. So out with the “Kent variant”, and in with Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta.
Yeah, I noticed that, too. So many variants. I guess they keep naming new ones because the old ones haven't lived up to the hype. And hype is what this is.

I think I got the DElta Dental Varient followed by the Delta Airline Variant.
They used to describe the variants at “South African” and “Indian” now the Greek alphabet because the other characterizations have “racist” implications.
I saw on TV Tuesday that there are now also two additional variants: Kappa and Lambda. (not kidding)
