Monteagudo, 64, was asleep Thursday morning when a strange feeling woke her. “It’s like something supernatural woke me up. I felt something strange, and I thought, 'Oh, I forgot to close the sliding door to the balcony, and the wind is making the noise,’ ” she said. “I tried to close the sliding door, and it felt like the building was moving. The door wouldn’t close.”
Then Monteagudo heard a crack. There was a line in the wall coming down from the ceiling — about two fingers wide. “Then it started getting wider and wider as I watched,” she said. “Something said, you have to run. You have to run immediately.”
“I ran to my bedroom, and took off my robe and changed into any dress and any sandals. I ran to the dining room table, I got my purse and my credit cards. I took the key, I blew out the candle that I light every night for Guadalupe of Mexico,” she said. “I blew out the candle, just in case.”
Monteagudo ran to the stairs, descending quickly. Between the sixth and fourth floors, there was a noise — and she realized the building was falling. ... “I thought if it’s coming down, ... like a domino effect,” she said.

When Monteagudo finally escaped from a door, there was water up to her ankles, and cables floating in it. She ran into a security guard. “He told me, ‘Mama, mama, let’s go, this is an earthquake,’ ” Monteagudo said. “I said, ‘No, it’s not an earthquake, it’s the building falling down.’

I just reported it. It would be good to have multiple reports.
It will take weeks/months before an "official" report is done, but it's pretty clear what happened here and it wasn't a terrorist event.

I would have tried to step into some shoes on my way out the door, but otherwise I would have been in my robe for the duration.
The 5 minutes estimate isn't "just" putting cloths on.
It's...
1. She woke up to feeling something strange.
2. Got up, went to other room. Tried to close the sliding door, but couldn't.
3. Heard a crack.
4. Saw a "2 fingers wide" line in the wall coming down from the ceiling, which got wider as she looked at it.
5. Ran back to bedroom, changed clothes.
6. Ran to dining room to grab purse and credit cards.
7. Took time to blow out a candle.
8. Ran to the stairs to descend.
9. She hears a noise when she's between 6th and 4th floors. Believes the building is falling.
Waking from sleep, but not thinking it's an emergency yet, getting up and out of bed and going into the other room to try and close the slider is at least a minute, maybe 2. Add in everything else she did and that was an eternity now that we know the building was in the process of collapsing.

The actual collapse was sudden if your on your frigen balcony having a smoke at 1 AM.
Pre collapse events were indicators of what was about to happen and suddenly..
