The traditional watching of Independence Day fireworks from the State House lawn won’t happen this year. In its place, several organizations will offer West African dance and music.

First celebrate anything else that day, next step will be to outlaw Independence Day as celebrating racism and slavery .

Well that’s the future of the country anyway. The people who built it up are being replaced, and their money and assets will be redistributed to ungrateful slackers.
Yet another clue that this fight for freedom isn’t black versus white (that’s a leftist concoction). Vermont is the whitest state in the nation.
Vermont used to be a rock ribbed Republican state. Then it appears it was invaded by hippies and rich liberal New Yorkers and Boston Brahmin-types like Senator Sheldon Whitesheets who will mess up anyplace they move to.

When I was a kid there were a few legal immigrants in my school. (Some FOTB, others first generation.) We included them in our American traditions. It seems some Americans are going out of their way to have an extreme minority include Americans in their traditions and ignore American traditions. I believe this is driven by American hating Americans, not people from West Africa or where else where.
My encounters we people that have recently immigrated (legally) from Africa is that they love this country. They want to embrace our traditions and our culture. That is kind of difficult to do when America hating Americans ignore our traditions.
Also, what's with this July 3rd business about celebrating Independence Day? Is it too difficult to celebrate Independence Day on Independence Day. This is done with too many holidays, as if it were too difficult or inconvenient to recognize the actual day.
They are now calling the thoroughly odious “Juneteenth” America’s Independence Day. Just watch as that gains traction over the coming decade or two. July Fourth will eventually be completely forgotten and replaced by a fake Kwanza-type celebration of zero meaning.
Even today, the number of Americans who know which country we defeated in the Revolutionary War is pitifully low.
