Halfway is just a brake pedal. Democrats move relentlessly left. After an amicable agreement in the "middle," the left will push extremism again and niTwits like this will again counsel accommodation in the "middle" ceding fully 75% extremism in two massive steps.
I have to admire how the left sticks to its game plan.

Flimsey Grahamnesty, Micro Rubio, John Hoeven, John Cornyn, Thom Tillis, Lankford, Inhofe, Scott, Scott, Romney, McConnell, Cassidy, Thune, Ernst, Boozman, Murkowsky, Wicker, Hyde-Smith, Shelby, Blunt, Sasse, Toomey, Rounds, Portman, Burr, Lee, Capito, Barrasso, and Collins are all Bush League Republicans willing to meet the Democrats halfway on destroying the country.
If we do not replace them, they will keep assisting the Democrats.
We need a new party
The GOPe runs on the fumes of a few stars past 160 years
And looks good compared to modern era democrats

Northeastern GOPe was always liberal
And most were modern
Post WWII. Dixiecrats and Goldwater Reagan GOPe were conservatism at least culturally

The federal government is a corrupt racket, it is the fight against a corrupt mob...that is our problem.
Your oppression is their business.
I think we have to take up weapons to kill it.
There are so many people who will not even consider a new party.
As clear as the GOP has made it that they will not side with the citizens and the rule of law, some people just cannot imagine not reflexively voting for them anyway.
And that’s how we end up with a Senate full of TransRepublicans.
