Have never heard of a circumstance in which a potential criminal Defendant was given a deadline to beg a prosecutor not to file charges. In effect the Defendant is being asked to take up an entirely fictitious new role of Un-Prosecutor tasked with proving himself Not Guilty, the prosecutor is usurping the role of the Grand Jury for no other reason than to embark upon a fishing expedition to haul back to port all documents and other evidence the Defendant coughs up to this modern day Star Chamber, and the right to remain silent is being thrown right out the window!

Good point. I found it puzzling as well.

But then Rudy Giuliani was just stripped of his law license for “saying false statements” which upon review appear true or at least grounded in fact.

Vance and James are to the prosecutor world as Dorsey and Zuckerberg are to the social media world.
