It’s not a vaccine. So, how can you explain breakthrough infections?

. As effective as the vaccine is, it’s still not 100%, thus breakthrough infections. We already know that people with leukemia and lymphoma are less likely to produce antibodies in response to the vaccine. Studies have also found that while those over 75 (and more so for those over 85) are less protected from COVID, they are as protected as those under 65 from severe cases or death.

Given that, it’s not surprising there will be breakthrough cases, and even some deaths.
