Biden event attracted no crowd because (cough) timing, location weren’t widely shared
So where were all the state and local loyal Democrats rooting for the 81 million vote ticket?
By BEATRICE DUPUY October 12, 2020

CLAIM: Video shows that a local news reporter can’t believe no one showed up for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and running mate Sen. Kamala Harris’ event in Arizona.

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. The video was edited to remove the portion where the reporter says that Biden campaign officials have not been notifying the public about their events due to the coronavirus.

THE FACTS: Social media users are sharing a selectively edited NewsNow from Fox clip of a local news reporter speaking outside the Heard Museum in Phoenix, where Biden and Harris were meeting with tribal leaders last Thursday.

She then goes onto explain why no one is outside. The clip edits out the line where Garcia says that she was told by one of the local Biden staffers that they did not share the timing and exact location of the event with the public.

“They didn’t really want to give that out to the public because they want to keep the crowds to a minimum. They realize we are in a pandemic,” she said. “They don’t want a crowd of more than 50 people at any of their events.”
The altered clip
The edited clip was shared hundreds of thousands of times on Facebook and viewed almost 4 million times on Twitter.

Fox 10 Phoenix reporter Nicole Garcia says she is right outside the museum and there is “not a lot of fanfare.”
?

“There is really not much to see,” she says. “It’s kind of boring out here. It’s not your typical presidential campaign event.” was retweeted by President Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump.

“Never a good sign…,” Eric Trump tweeted, receiving more than 25,000 shares on his tweet.

The video is watermarked with “The News Junkies Cartoons.” The pro-Trump group behind the video has a YouTube channel with similar edited political videos and a Facebook page where they say they work in visual effects. The group did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

During the campaign the Biden people said that they did not want a lot of people at his events because of the pandemic. In my opinion they did not want people at his events to see how compromised he was. Instead they wanted the media to be able to pick up a few times when he was coherent and frame it in such a way to make Biden look strong. The propaganda media succeeded.
