Following the demise of the Gorbachev govt the Soviet Union, qua Russia, had a chance for the first time ever to join a brotherhood of Western nations. It blew that chance. However, given the history of totalitarianism in Tataristan I suppose it was wishful thinking.

Sounds like it. Are they really that long and how in the hell would you really use them?

Why do the Russians need such a sub to sink one of our carriers? They doubt that a crew of soyboys and poofters can’t do it on their own?

It can take out more than a city. Try a state or more.

According to the head of The Joint Chiefs of Staff, Belgorod is Russian for “White Rage”.

I wouldn't think so. The suffix 'gorod', in Russian, means 'city'.

Im sure liberals in the US are outraged.
Making memes about how the Russian military should have have bake sales to fund their submarines, and schools instead should get all of that money.

Russia claims to have a nuclear powered air missile, although they’ve reportedly been having serious trouble with it. So why not nuclear torpedoes?

We reportedly have privately built nuclear generators (Westing House) that can fit into a shipping container, so maybe the Russians (government scale resources) have been able to shrink it further.

It has a range of well over 1,000 miles as it is nuclear powered.

Thanks. I've zero knowledge of modern military capabilities and I rely on the knowledge of those on here who did.

“And how many cities can a US Ohio class boomer take out?
24 missiles x 8 MIRV warheads so about 200 CITIES per submarine...

Some great reporting here”

My immediate reaction, as well.

The future is set:
1. It implodes entombing the Russians.
2. It has a nuclear meltdown and radiates Crimea.
3. It will be in dry dock in 1 year and remain there for eternity.
