Wurzburg (Germany) (AFP) - Investigators were racing Saturday to pinpoint the motive of a man who went on a knife rampage in the German city of Wuerzburg, killing three people and leaving five seriously injured.
The suspect, a 24-year-old Somali who arrived in Wuerzburg in 2015, staged the attack in the city centre on Friday evening, striking at a household goods store before advancing to a bank.
He was later overpowered by police after they shot him in the thigh, Bavaria's interior minister Joachim Herrmann said.
Investigators found records showing that the man had been treated at a psychiatric institution, and police said he was not a known Islamist.
"The police investigation will determine if this was an Islamist act or if it was due to the psychiatric state" of the man, said Herrmann.
But the case was immediately seized on by the far-right AfD, with the party's co-chair Joerg Meuthen noting that a witness had reportedly heard the suspect shouting "Allah Akbar" (God is greatest).
Meuthen lamented the latest "Islamist knife murders in the middle of Germany," adding that it was a "tragedy for the victims, who have my sympathy and another manifestation of Merkel's failed migration policy".

Why are any of the authorities “racing” to “pinpoint” any reason. Do they somehow feel smarter, brighter, important, or worthy for doing so? And what is the race they are talking about?

The German people need to sort of whether the psychiatric problems are those of this individual or of a government that keeps importing murderous Islamists.
Because they have to head off the obvious conclusion that importing hundreds of thousands of violent young men, who believe they are entitled to everything you have, and to enslave you, might not have been a good idea.
They have to protect the narrative.

That’s the biggest mistake right there. Should have solved the problem permanently.
Now we will have one half of Germany convinced it was their fault and the this man must be looked after due to mental illness, brought on by the trauma of developed society - and the other half will be furious when he only goes to prison for 12 years. No winners.
Yet for some reason when a bear or coyote or lion kills or attacks a person, authorities just go hunt it down and kill it - without any attempt to determine a motive. Perhaps the animal had been abused when young? Perhaps the animal just wasn’t understood by the other animals?

He was suffering from mental illness after being forced to live a life of racist oppression around Nazis and White Supremacists, therefore his actions are perfectly justified.
It is the Nazis and White Supremacists who must be hunted down and neutralized - and more refugees invited to live in Germany to dilute the racists and bigots.

Cops say their interview with the guy got all the jihad signals. The cops visited the homeless shelter, and found in the paper bin....material related to ISIS...dumped the previous night. Waiting on political dimwits to accept what the cops say.
One odd note, he applied for asylum in 2015/2016...failed. What exactly has he and the Bavarian gov’t (responsible) been doing doing? Once the failed letter comes....the van should be there within 3 minutes to pick him up and carry him to a holding facility till he can leave the country.
