Arvada is just part of Denver with a separate local govt., like the other suburbs there. I started in Denver in 76, moved to Lakewood in 83, moved to unincorporated Littleton in 97 (each move was to live in a safer area with better schools) and was chased completely out of the metro area in 2009.
I was just invited to a get together for former board members of a Denver event. I congratulated them on the success of the event over the years but said I would not be attending as the Denver area isn’t civilized any more.
