Of course they don’t. Nobody believes they do.
But they do have the right to make it a condition of employment. Hell, they can make abstinence from Nicotine a condition of employment, or Flu vaccine.

At the hospital where I worked they ‘encouraged” you to get the flu vaccine. If you declined, you had to wear mask, gloves, and gown in the clinical area.
We all cracked up when we saw the CEO of the hospital walking through the clinical area with mask, gloves, and gown on.

Not really. They can set workplace conditions, but anything which sets conditions outside of the workplace and work hours, they have no right to set.
Else, let management be responsible for paying employees for 168 hours each week, including vacation. Mask wearing and hand washing are fine. Stay home when sick is fine.
