I stand corrected and apologize .....I deer hunt with west Virginians who like Kentuckians and some Missourians get riled if I think they are yankees....
West Virginia supplied about as many CSA as Union soldiers and the way it was carved out was dubious with more counties that became West Virginia voting with Richmond than against by 2/1
However the populated northern counties supported the Union...no question
