I believe all of this is leading to the end of college as a ticket to success. Colleges are destroying themselves and should be allowed to do so.

Many college graduates are not equipped for the real world so reducing the importance of a college degree is a good thing.

It is becoming more and more clear colleges are propaganda mills warping the thinking of their graduates.

"Many college graduates are not equipped for the real world so reducing the importance of a college degree is a good thing."

While working at a large electronics company in Texas in the early 90's, we decided to up-grade the educational level of the lowest 'operator' employee to AS degree only.(Current employees were grandfathered)

We asked our engineers to formulate a test for the applicants to that position. When 40% of the applicants failed the test....I had another group of engineers evaluate the test. They concluded that the test was valid and that the math portion was equal only to the 8th grade.

We persisted with the test and 40% failed. We wound up hiring almost everyone who passed.

With these new hires, we began implementing an SPC program.
