I think the idea is that while someone’s opinions cannot be CENSORED, because they are permanently embedded into a blockchain....but then people have to live with them, because they are permanently embedded into a blockchain
It’s sort of the First Amendment on steroids. I absolutely have the right to speak (or not). But I also realize that my speech can be countered by someone else’s. I have to own what I say.
That’s sort of how I am thinking about it.
Now all that said....it does seem, to your point, that there needs to be some off ramps or this new system....and I’d wager, once it is up and running, someone will build some sort of application which allows something like that, sort of allows you to test drive a social media persona before permanently committing....something like that, as it were
The advantage is that it is completely decentralized and not controlled by the top level domains, it is a protocol that is not part of the domain registry control. It is all in your own control P2P and steps around all the centralized server systems. There are already many of these blockchain communication clients available. Some even let you host your own website on your own machine, along with many others as part of the blockchain network. And there are many group communication/file sharing clients. All encrypted though blockchain technology.
