Actually, since these Democrats are the ideological detritus of Cultural Marxism they are worse than communists.
You see, a communist at least nominally imagines the society he’s building should last, that’s why no matter how evil and bonkers their ideology may make them they at least tend to value the culture they still have, as well as to to value basic biology or biological facts (beyond that things can get dodgy).
Cultural Marxists are different. They are by design intended to be incapable of sustaining a nation, a civilization or even a species. This is because the whole thing was designed not to bring about a communist Revolution but to collapse the West as dry rot and termites will a house. They are to communism what a herd of sheep can be to clearing a minefield, a no or lie cost to the communist expediency who will be the first against the wall when they’ve done their jobs.
Did you ever see the 1984 movie Red Dawn? Did you notice who weren’t in the town or the camp? The town was for collaborators trying to make something out of a bad situation, the camp was for those unwilling to be bent to the will of the invaders at all. In a realistic version of that movie the cultural Marxist academic elites, the race hustlers, homosexuals, transgenders and those like AntiFa — the core of what we now call the Democrats— would rarely be found in either having been killed because the communist would never put up with their crap now that they no longer served a purpose.
So get upset about whatever I call them or don’t call them ... just don’t accuse me of supporting their agenda because of it. Thanks.

Using different labels for leftists, communists, Democrats, progressives, etc. allows a reasonable but lifelong Democrat to mentally distance himself from the more radical members of the Democrat party thereby giving himself an excuse to vote for Democrats.
Let's use a hypothetical example - John Doe is a reasonable and thinking individual that saw what happened during the 2020 riots. He does not agree that they were mostly peaceful and thinks the perpertrators should be brought to justice. John Doe knows that the Democrats to his left don't think they should be prosecuted. John Doe tells himself, 'self, I don't agree with those communists and progressives that don't want to prosecute the rioters but they're not Democrats, like I am. They're communists that just happen to vote the same way I do.'
It gives him an excuse to continue voting stupidly. I say use RULE 12: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."
Pick the target - Democrats
Freeze it - call them ALL Democrats
Polarize it - make them realize they include themselves in the party of destruction
