The Confederate battle flag, which was crafted as a symbol of opposition to the abolishment of slavery, is just recently tired. We don’t see it much anymore. However, on the 6th, when the stormers rained on the nation’s most precious hut, waving Old Glory — the memo was received: the American flag is its replacement.
President Biden, Madame Harris and members of Congress: the American flag has been hijacked as code for a specific belief. God bless those believers, they can have it. Like the Confederate, it is tattered, dated, divisive, and incorrect. It no longer represents democracy and freedom. It no longer represents ALL of us. It’s not fair to be forced to honor it. It’s time for a new flag.
Incorrect? Let’s look to the stars. There are 50, where there should be 52. D.C. and Puerto Rico have been lobbying for statehood for decades. Both have been denied, since statehood would allow each territory’s elected officials seats in the house.
Assuming D.C. reps would be African-American and Puerto Rican reps would be Hispanic, the ultimate assumption is that these elected officials would be Democratic. That alone is racist.
On to the stripes. The Smithsonian documents that the “white” stripes represent purity and innocence. America is great. It is beautiful. Pure, it ain’t. It is broken and in pieces.
What if the stripes were OFF-white? What if there were 52 stars to include D.C. and Puerto Rico? What if the stars were the colors of ALL of us — your skin tone and mine — like the melanin scale? The blue square represents vigilance and perseverance; and the red stripes stand for valor. America is all of those things. So, what if those elements on the flag remained? What if the flag looked like this?

I like MarketWatch’s financial articles. But this story shows that they can be as crazy, racist, and divisive as any site out there. Different colored stars for different skin colors? What a great way to Balkanize us even more.
“United we stand, divided we fall.”
Oops. I should not have typed that. The quote is attributed to Aesop, a white man. I should have picked a more inclusive saying. I’m very sorry.
F them - the American flag is the same one that fought to free the slaves - AND - Jan 6 has NOTHING to do with race or anti-slavery thoughts.
Kick this communist in the nuts.
So I went and looked at the proposed flag. Seven stars are white, thirteen stars are black and the rest of the stars are various shades of tan. Which may reflect the population of the U.S. as seen in commercials and print ads but not in reality.
Yesterday I was surprised to find that there is a ‘Juneteenth’ flag—actually several of them. They (whoever they are) haven’t quite decided on a design. Several are red and blue with a white star, some are red and black with the star and some are defaced American flags with green and black. Some oddly featured the raised black fist—as if those slaves emancipated themselves.
This got me to thinking that when talking about the new holiday we should emphasize that it was the Republican-led North and West that led to emancipation of the slaves in the democrat-led South.
First of all, having skin tone colors as stars vs picking one contrasting color to represent states is always going to result in squabbling because at any snapshot in time the flag races are not going to reflect the proportion of people of the various levels of pigmentation. That defeats the first purpose of a flag, which is being a rallying point.
If you pick gray stripes, you should pick one or two tasteful solid color that the gray sets off. You can go with your cool and warm reds, but they should be solid because printed fabrics are inferior and less weather resistant than good yarn dyed textiles. You’ll end up with a sad little white flag, bleached out in the sun. Great if your purpose is to signal your surrender, but not so great otherwise.
If the adults ever get back in charge, unappreciative, misinformed creeps like this guy may have trouble finding jobs.
BTW, you wouldn’t happen to be a football coach, would you? I am an Auburn fan.
Thank you!
The attempt to rewrite (attack on) history continues.
Is there anyone who thinks we can ‘co-exist’ with these AH?
[Barf Alert] tag please.
No thank you.
I will keep the flag I have.
It represents the freedom I grew up with.
Sad to see our nation fall into the hands of
Commuism.
Red diaper babies have been at it for a long time.
Macy Gray. Currently worth about 12 million dollars. She is so oppressed!
I imagine that People who write tripe like this lay awake all night wondering how they rest of us saps will react to their expressing their vivid imaginations as fact.
Nope, the Propagandist’s sleep like Babies knowing that willful ignorance has reached epidemic proportions in this Country and they have a sElection to prove it.
I guess the writer never saw the picture of the Democrat KKK Marching through the streets of D.C. carrying hundreds of American Flags.
It really should have dollar signs instead of stars. Money drives every decision made in Congress, by who’s giving it to them. Foster hatred between white and brown skinned people while the bankers continue their march to our serfdom.
You have a flag, and all of us can honor it. Those who don’t, go to venezuela, somalia or north korea.
Maybe Macy Gray would like to shove her new flag up where the Sun never shines?
Not recognizing the name but from a quick search she appears to be a singer. Entitled to her opinion but said opinion just strikes me as another attempt from the LEFT and more cancel culture!
The new flag will show a white person on their knees with their head down showing obedience to their black master.
The lunatics have escaped the asylum.
I will NEVER celebrate “Juneteenth”!!!!
HONOR Old Glory!!!! Bring back the Confederate flag!!!! DC must NEVER become a State, and Puerto Rico must be given its independence!!!!
PHOOEY to the TRAITOR Dims and to their stolen election, and to demented biden and stupidly-evil kamala!!!!
