Most of our “losing” ( for want of a better word ) to China are SELF-INFLICTED. Trump and his administration was slowly turning the tide with his tough trade deal, policy of energy independence, guarding our technology, making things in America, sourcing to countries that are friendly to the USA instead of depending on China for our supply chain, vigilance against spying and intellectual property theft, and alliances with countries that are similarly wary of China.
He was building up our military and adding a space force to counter China until traitors in our midst ( Pelosi, Swalwell, Adam Schiff, etc. ) sabotaged his plans.
China couldn’t do squat with a tough America.
The next 4 years are going to be painful.
To achieve their goal as the worlds supplier, China has polluted its rivers streams and nearly every source of water.
Their cancer rates are skyrocketing and they have a couple hundred million folks who are seriously poor.
They build using poor building standards and many of their building wouldn’t pass inspection here.
Then of course there is their little mooselimb problem in their far west.
Congratulations, really. I also speak (some) Mandarin, and write some characters.

1) My current company does business there ( airports ).
2) I go to a bilingual church ( English and Chinese speaking Pastor ) and I have lots of friends with family there. So, when I visit I don’t have to stay in a hotel, I stay with friends.
In the late 80’s and early 90’s I used to work for a Semiconductor company that had to make their products at TSMC in Taiwan. So, I lived there for 4 years and studied Mandarin at their Normal University. Therefore, I read the traditional Chinese characters better and have a hard time making out the simplified characters that China uses.
Needless to say, I am an admirer of the Taiwanese System of government and wish that China would adopt this system instead of the other way around.
Since the communists took over China, they have removed well over 30 million of their citizens from poverty by murdering them or starving them to death.

To be fair, they have lifted over 400 million of her citizens out of poverty since the late 1980’s BY EMBRACING CAPITALISM and abandoning Marxism.
