I don’t think it has much of a chance of happening. There have been similar movements in CA and OR over the past 30 or 40 years and they haven’t gone anywhere. Those movements would have split those states in two. I think this is the first time that sections of an existing state would leave to join another state. There’s a lot of debate in ID about whether that would be a net plus or minus for Idaho.
