What was is, half a dozen years ago when TX ranchers were selling their stock off at rock bottom prices due to the drought? Somehow, the middlemen jacked up the price of beef to the consumers who were sure the price would drop. Surprise! Joke’s on you. After the drought, beef prices have remained high to this day.
Covid jacked them up again. Today, a basic chuck roast at Wallyworld is $6.47/lb. Before the hack, they were about $5.47/lb. Before covid, you could find them for around $3/lb.
I was watching the prices too. And before the hack Beef prices were actually dropping and below the price of Pork and actually hanging there. There was no way they could allow this to continue while everything else was going up so bingo, “we got hacked”.
Far too obvious...
