A woman has died after she was shot Monday afternoon during an argument over masks at a supermarket in DeKalb County, officials said.
The suspect who authorities say shot the woman and a retired DeKalb deputy who returned fire are both in the hospital after the incident, Sheriff Melody Maddox said during a news conference.
The incident happened inside the Big Bear Supermarket near The Gallery at South DeKalb mall on Candler Road, DeKalb sheriff’s office spokeswoman Cynthia Williams confirmed. Several other people were inside the store when gunfire erupted, Maddox said.
The supermarket is located next to the mall property but is not a tenant of The Gallery, a spokeswoman said.
Authorities said a man opened fire on the woman, who was a cashier at the store, after they got into an argument.

Maybe it would help a little if Karens stopped antagonizing people.
Was the gun legal? Was the assailant intoxicated? A mask isn’t something a normal person would shoot over.

Maybe we should all start wearing bullet-proof vests, or clothing made from Kevlar.”
Or a safer and easier way,just order everything on line from Costco, Amazon, Raleys and Walmart and get delivery to your door.
While I’m living in NYS, just owning a pistol or revolver means being a registered gun owner. I don’t want the gov’t knowing what I own. At some point, I’ll be leaving NY for a 2A-friendly state.
The problem with that is then we’re building China’s army even more.
It’s difficult to get away from Chinese goods, but it’s possible.
I can’t believe someone is shooting over masks though.

I’m convinced there’s a serial shooter prowling Atlanta interstates in the early morning hours. Since January, there have been 30 people shot while driving. 13 are dead. Latest shooting was today about 5 am on Interstate 85 northbound inside the perimeter. A lady was randomly shot as she was driving.
Well, that’s your decision to make. Keep your head on a swivel.

Not that I’ve seen. Local news reports each singular incident; but, the stories fade away with the 24 hour news cycle. The majority of the shootings seem to occur in the 2-5 am window. I can’t recall any arrests being made. I’m not the only local who starting to think serial shooter.
