Sounds exactly like it--but back then at least there really was a race relations problem in the Army. Many a fight broke out in the enlisted club on 'soul nights' if a white guy dared walk in the place.

I grew up in the South. It was always like that. Well, at least for the last 60 years. We pretty much left them alone. They hate us for being white. No amount of wokeness or reparations will change that. It is best to accept it and act accordingly.
