Back when New York was patriotic. If Marcus had died fighting for Israel today, his family’s home in the US would’ve been burned out, his body dug up and desecrated.

There is a David Marcus Street in Jerusalem, that crosses Hapalmach Street. It is a lovely part of town where many of the streets are named after names from 1948, including Hapalmach Street, Hagana, etc.
