Indeed, I might be imagining things, but I do think the priest paused for a second but he did eventually give me the wafer.

Another thing they did at mass was to remove all the catechists from the back of the pews. If you wanted one you had to pick it up from the back of the church to use, then return it after mass.

I have no idea why they did this. I guess to avoid fingerprints spreading a vaccine or some such.

I come in by side of church and wasn’t about to walk back before mass to retrieve and after mass to return.

I was so looking forward to singing without a damn mask but I only knew the words for a few songs.

But I sang, Lord I sang. I sang with the Robins and the Wrens and the Cardinals.

Few people had on masks but everyone was sitting five feet apart or some such. Which made me sing louder as I wasn’t singing in someone’s ear.

It was great. My Lord and Savior....how much I missed Him.
