After all, it is an inert particle that is dead, unlike bacteria or germs. It is not a living organism. It is here and here to stay. It is not going away. We cannot eradicate it. Vaccines aren't the quick fix people want them to be.
You give no explanation or reason why Californians are better off with vaccines. The deciding factor should be individual freedom to choose.
I am not getting the vaccine because I don't want to. I should not have to explain or give any other reason than that. It's my choice. Not the government's.

Example #2: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/japan/ State of emergency, police state movement and contact tracing, and lurching from wave to wave. Very low vaccination rate so far and most importantly no natural immunity because they thought they could beat the virus with isolation and a permanent medical police state.
As for your decision, that's entirely up to you. Young? Don't bother. Had COVID already? Vaccine is unnecessary. Around old or vulnerable people a lot? Then consider the benefits of not spreading against the risks.

All they care about is getting everybody vaccinated. They don't treat the patients, they don't test for antibodies, nothing. It's all about the jab.

Problem is, you're wrong. I don't care about any of it and never have. I've never worn a mask, done social distancing or been in lockdown.
And, ironically, for all that you think you know, I am no worse off than you are.
And you think I am afraid to get COVID. I belong to a club with a of old people and once a month or more I would have a chance of spreading COVID. I know nothing about anyone here including you which is why I always said it had to be an individual choice based on facts. I don't have all the facts, but I know when I see speculation and innuendo about adverse events with missing context and comparisons.
I don't spread covid. The corona virus spreads covid. I am not afraid of getting covid. I am not afraid of the side effects of the vaccine. Do I need to expose myself to risks when it isn't necessary? No.
And since both the WHO and the CDC claim that the vaccines do not stop the transmission of the virus, then what else is there to think about?
The medical experts have done a poor job of explaining and convincing people what the vaccines are for. The vaccines are not meant to stop the spread of the virus. The shots are not meant to prevent you from getting the covid. Maybe to lessen the symptoms of the covid disease if you do get it? I don't know. The message from those insistent on everybody getting vaccinated is unclear.
The chance of dying if you get covid is a minuscule .02% to begin with. Much to do about nothing. I probably have a greater risk of dying from an infection from a splinter in my hand, than I do from covid.
Maybe you missed my point. I am not getting this experimental vaccine for any other reason than I choose not to.
No research, no calculations, no speculation, no experimentation, no second-guessing, no nothing.
I am not getting the vaccine because I simply don't see any reason to get it. There need be no other explanation than that.
