I haven’t been back to the Salt Lick in years but remember it as very good, too.
The original Chuy’s is still doing a brisk business.......but now they’re franchised all over!
I used to live right next to Fuschaks in San Marcos. That’s where I learned about smoked Brisket. They would load a giant baked potato up with it. So good. Now I’m up in Ohio where they act like they’ve never heard about mesquite. I think they use liquid smoke at some of the places. Even if it’s decent, it’s not the same.
