Law enforcement struggles to recruit since killing of Floyd

Law enforcement agencies across the country experienced a wave of retirements and departures and are struggling to recruit the next generation of police officers in the year since George Floyd was killed by a cop.

And amid the national reckoning on policing, communities are questioning who should become a police officer today.

Years ago, a candidate’s qualifications might be centered around his — yes, his — brawn. Now, police departments say they are seeking recruits who can use their brain. And they want those future officers to represent their communities.

“Days of old, you wanted someone who actually had the strength to be more physical,” Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant said. “Today’s police officers, that’s not what we’re looking for. We’re looking for someone who can actually relate to the community but also think like the community thinks.”

But the climate today, coupled with increases in crime in some cities, is creating what Chuck Wexler, the head of the Police Executive Research Forum, called a “combustible mixture.”

It’s creating “a crisis on the horizon for police chiefs when they look at the resources they need, especially during a period when we’re seeing an increase in murders and shootings,” Wexler said. “It’s a wake-up call.”

In other words - we need to figure out ways to get more officers killed in the line of duty by recruiting weaklings who are real smart.

Observe how the dinosaur media manipulates perception via their headline.

“killing of Floyd” should be “death of Floyd” or “suicide of Floyd”.

The media, the CCP, and the democrat party have discovered that, with a bioweapon and manipulation of public information, they can bring the world to its knees.

No need for invasions or nuclear strikes. A microscopic virus and control of the press is all that’s required.

They likely already have the next level iteration sitting in a freezer somewhere.

The difficulty in recruitment is a circumstance totally unrelated to “Defund the Police” or the relative immunity that BLM/Antifa thugs have to prosecution. < /sarcasm >

All of these Democrat Cities are Liberal Utopia’s, why do they even need Police?

The only real valid reason for becoming a police officer:

It’s the best paying gig you can get with your skill set.

Not sure why anyone would become a cop or join the military with this leftist/social-engineering narrative running the country.

Its a war on masculinity and rationality.

The guy had enough fentanyl in his system to kill a horse - to literally kill a horse - and yet because 12-jurors were afraid of being murdered by an angry mob, we’ll forever have to live with the fallacy that George Floyd was ‘killed.’

Have they tried recruiting in Communist China?

There's a lot of Communist Chinese Nationals that would love a good Union job in American Law Enforcement, with that sweet pay, retirement and bennies, and they would fit right in with the Big City Police Brass, and Democrat Politicians.

I don't see a downside to this.

“Now, police departments say they are seeking recruits who can use their brain.”

Anyone with a brain has figured out being a cop is a good way to end up in prison for the rest of your life. And surprisingly few smart people WANT to spend the rest of their life in prison, an ex-cop surround by people who hate cops.

And lets be honest. When you call a cop, you don’t want a 5’1” woman showing up. Because if a little woman could handle things, there would be no NEED to call a cop!

So was Justine Diamond, but they never mention that one.

1. Make policing an undesirable job
2. Lower hiring standards so only undesirables apply
3. Now the police can be depended on to only beat up good citizens.

It's working out like "A Clockwork Orange". The "men in blue" will be the hoods and MS-13.

Welcome to Marxist Utopia!

Mission accomplished for the Marxists.

At some point, there will be such an extreme shortage of LEOs, the Democrats will have to set up a nationalized police force (with them in control of it, of course).

“ We’re looking for someone who can actually relate to the community but also think like the community thinks.”
So they are looking for cops who think like criminals?
