Thanks for posting this sweet, sweet memory. It's like rain on the desert.
Agreed, we have a minimum age and should have a maximum.
Term limits should be enacted as well.
This confirms my pin sticking of voodoo doll RAT senators is working. Just have to keep at it...
Biden doesn’t vote in the Senate - Harris does, if needed.
and if Biden dies, what happens to Comm-ala?
The days when Dems had 60 seats in the US Senate are gone for the foreseeable future.
How so?
We need to start getting rid of the octos. New blood is a good thing.
I also would love to see term limits for the elected politicians but that is dangerous. It leaves the real decision making in the hands of unelected, unaccountable, and uncaring bureaucrats. Any term limiting system must include limits on FedGov employment for bureaucrats also. Maybe a 10 year limit on all GS positions down to GS-8.
Without turnover in the bureaucracy the political viewpoint coalesces to one opinion, usually the left. Then when a conservative comes to power, they are met with resistance, slow-walking responses, and general disregard for any action desired by the boss.
This is what happened to PDJT. He came to office expecting support and loyalty just as he would find in a business wherein he was paying their salaries. But FedGov bureaucrats are not like salaried employees in the real world. They know that their salary does not come from POTUS and hence owe him nothing. PDJT should have fired each and every GS-x that was hired by the Obama Admin and replaced them with new folks, preferably conservative.
She’s brain dead; evidently that doesn’t count.
As for Mass.; the legislature changes the rules according to who the governor is; if it’s a Democrat, the governor must make the appointment as a matter of fundamental principle; if the governor is a Republican, it must be by special election as a matter of principle; the principle being that they have no principles, only an undying quest for power, and absolutely no sense of shame whatsoever.
Ted Kennedy is still dead,right?
:) :) :)
I think he’s likely a RINO, but he’s a member of the Republican Party and likely would appoint at least a nominal Republican to the seat.
Vermont? You mean “nominal Republican” like Jumpin’ Jim Jeffords?
I wrote about that some time ago but had to be careful. There are six RAT senators in a state with a GOP governor whose replacement could be immediate without special election or requirement that replacement be of the same party.
But there are only six RATS whose replacement does not require a special election or replacement with same party.
Kamala would become prez and temporary vacancy in VP means no tie breaking vote in Senate until new VP is approved by majority vote of each house. That would be 50-50 tie and give GOP some bargaining power -— until Romney flips.
We need to be very careful here. I do not wish for anyone to die, no matter how evil they are, and no matter how much it would help the country.
Arizona and Maryland require Gov to name same party replacement. Massachusetts requires special election.
But how about this? In AZ and MD, a deal is made for a Dem to be appointed who will agree to switch parties. It could be a registered Dem who is not even in politics but is a Trump supporter. That person would certainly switch parties once sworn in.
This would make quite a novel. But I must be careful not to suggest anything to get the FBI to investigate me again.
They have their psycho Antifa army. Maybe it’s time to Trotsky some party members...
