I’m not saying they aren’t caused by the vaccine. There’s at least some circumstantial evidence they are, and both Israel and the CDC have identified a potential link.
I’m pointing out that myocarditis is not a death sentence and it’s not even uncommon. In fact, it’s extremely common and caused by many different things; often a cold. Symptoms are typically either mild or nonexistent. Recovery is typically quick and easy.
Myocarditis or “heart inflammation” sounds very serious and urgent on its surface. Some use the fact that people often aren’t familiar with it to stoke fear. I’m putting the diagnosis into context. Is it desirable to see a rise in myocarditis? No. Is it the end of the world? No. Is it worth investigating and monitoring? Absolutely. Should there be some sort of warning provided with the vaccines that are associated with this with warning signs that should trigger a visit to the doctor? Probably, yes.
As with everything, I want people informed and to have the necessary context to understand things. Some just want fear. I think parents and teens need to make informed decisions based on the latest evidence. And doing so requires that they understand what that evidence means in practical terms.
It’s pretty terrible if the vast majority of these teens would have suffered far less worse from just getting actual Covid. Or may have never gotten Covid at all.
