That money then gets transferred abroad, often via bitcoin.

Bitcoin hitting $60k recently is probably an unrelated coincidence...

A friend of my Wife is Married to a Lawyer.

He is in CA and specializes in Employee Civil Law. His Practice was decimated by the Kung Flu because the Courts were pretty much shut down. He has worked out of his Home Office for years.

Somehow, he received around $200,000 in various low Interest SBA Loans and some of that debt may be forgiven when all of this is said and done. I think the Loans are Amortized over twenty Years with Interest Rates of 2.5% or so from what I was told.

What a frigging racket.
