The number of Americans applying for unemployment benefits fell for the sixth straight week as the U.S. economy reopens rapidly after being held back for months by the coronavirus pandemic.
Jobless claims fell by 9,000 to 376,000 from 385,000 the week before, the Labor Department reported Thursday. The number of people signing up for benefits exceeded 900,000 in early January and has fallen more or less steadily ever since. Still, claims are high by historic standards. Before the pandemic brought economic activity to a near-standstill in March 2020, weekly applications were regularly coming in below 220,000.
Nearly 3.5 million were receiving traditional state unemployment benefits the week of May 29, down by 258,000 from 3.8 million the week before.

Our domestic enemies are orchestrating the collapse of America, but even they aren't going to like what follows.
There’s a steel mill near where I live that is advertising jobs. They have the signs right out on the front of their buildings. I’ve been living here for decades and have never seen them do that before.
I see job signs everywhere. There is a segment of society that refuses to work.
What’s the labor participate, Skippy?
Not looking so hot.

This is the latest “fake news” promulgated by the corrupt media in concert with the Chamber of Crony Capitalism to increase public approval of more open borders. Yes there appear to be plenty of construction jobs open but with no experience you need not apply. The only job my wife (B.S. Industrial Engineering with 20+ years of experience) could get was as a cashier at a supermarket for minimum wage and only guaranteed 24 hours a week. I (B.S. Business, M.S. Information Technology) have have applied for hundreds of jobs and been unable to find anything from entry level tech support to Director of IT level. Zip, nada, nothing. I ask friends in HR and they say it’s part age discrimination and the fact no one hires overqualified people anymore. But the story that there are millions of these great jobs crying for workers is complete and utter BS.
