Illegal border crossings have exploded by 674 per cent in a year, with 180,034 recorded in May - the fourth consecutive monthly rise.
Newly-released figures from U.S. Customs and Border Protection show the number of migrants rocketed by more than six-fold from the 23,237 who crossed from Mexico into the United States in May 2020.
Last year's number was far lower than usual because of the COVID-19 outbreak, but this year's figures still spell worrying news for Joe Biden, with 2021 on-track to record the highest number of illegal border crossings since 2006.

I really don’t understand what Biden was hoping to accomplish with that edict.

I think Harris mentioned “food insecurity” as a reason why they come over to the United States.
No one in the pictures or video footage looks like they have missed a meal. Quite the contrary.
Well from what I understand, he is trying to change the demographics of the entire country by flooding it with illegals in the belief that poor Hispanics/Latinos coming in will vote Democrat/Socialist just like they do in California. To me that’s treason, assisting foreign nationals take over the country? What if a hostile foreign army was making pretend they were migrants and this guy is letting them in and once they are in they start mass murdering US citizens all across the country? For opening that border he should be impeached. Yes it will never get him out of office, but Republicans should do it anyway. The guy has overwhelmingly proved he is a domestic enemy towards the USA, there is not one thing he has done that has benefited the USA, he bashes it constantly and he’s been in office almost half a year now.
All I ask of God is that I live long enough to see a Trump in the White House again. Either the man I voted for or one of his children.
I think we need to step up. If we can’t patrol, armed, then we should send $$$ to Texas and Arizona, etc. to support their efforts to keep ILLEGALS out.

We need to get support, financially and otherwise, the efforts of TX and AZ, States that want to complete the wall on their land.
