Seventy-eight percent of senior Capitol Hill aides believe Republicans will regain the House in 2022, up 12 percent from April, according to a poll released Monday.
The Punchbowl News poll also included responses by party, which showed 57 percent of Democrat Hill staffers believe Republicans will regain control.
Additionally, 99 percent of the Republicans on the Hill believe their party will regain control of the House, ending House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) short four-year reign of trying to push through her radical, one-sided agenda.
In comparison, during an April poll from Punchbowl, an overwhelming majority (66 percent) also said they believe the Republicans will reclaim the majority, which includes 36 percent of Democrats respondents, who at the time believed they would lose the House majority.
The survey was conducted anonymously between April 11 and 28 online through Locust Street Group in partnership with Punchbowl News.
The survey asked 158 senior Capitol Hill aides, which includes chiefs of staff, legislative directors, communications directors, press secretaries, and staff directors.
Punchbowl News previously said the reason for polling aides is while “Members of Congress are the ones with the election certificates, but, in many cases, their aides hold outsized power. Senior staffers are the gatekeepers and, in many cases, the decision-makers.”
Recently, the Republican campaign arm, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC), had expanded the list of vulnerable Democrats the committee is looking to pick off and unseat in the midterm election. This now brings NRCC’s initial 47-member list of offensive targets to a full list of 57 vulnerable House Democrat members.

Republican victories in Texas local races on Saturday(6/05) have buoyed GOP hopes for the future in a state that Democrats have targeted as fertile ground in which to grow their support.
A Republican candidate, Mattie Parker, held off a strong challenge from Democrat Deborah Peoples in the race for Fort Worth mayor. Peoples boasted endorsements from Democrats with national profiles, such as Beto O’Rourke and Housing Secretary Julian Castro, but still fell roughly 8 points short of wresting control of the city away from the GOP.
In Arlington, a suburb of Fort Worth, some on the Right cheered the election of a pro-police mayoral candidate, Jim Ross, as a victory for conservative politics in the type of suburban area that has trended away from Republicans in recent years. Municipal elections in Texas are nonpartisan, meaning candidates do not run with their party affiliations listed on the ballots.
A GOP victory in the mayoral race in the border town of McAllen, Texas, drew the most applause from Republicans after their candidate, Javier Villalobos, notched an unexpected but narrow victory over Democrat Veronica Whitacre. Villalobos won by roughly 200 votes.
Looking at the voter fraud machine in 2020, including the Georgia Senate runoffs, and I wonder how they can believe that. Seems like more misinformation to me.
Ok-let’s have a big drum roll for an upcoming election day 17 months from now. I had that anticipation prior to Nov. 3. What happened? I don’t think we should think of thins in the bag.
And, don’t neglect this one, they believe Nancy Pelosi will storm the Capitol to get her old chair back. With extreme prejudice.
GOP - Sure! GOP-e - Not on your life!
The letter after the name means jack anymore.
Are they all in to MAGA?
If not and they get elected, that’s not what I call winning.
You’re always hard at work trying to suppress the Republican vote.
If we don’t take it back, the results will be dire.
Momentum matters.
It excites people. Some volunteer to work the trenches.
The sooner we start, The better.
Poll: Overwhelming Majority of Capitol Hill Aides Believe Republicans Will Retake House Majority in 2022 When Their Magic Wands All Wave Together In Synchronized Hand Waving
and if Nancy get her Scam the People bill passed the Republicans will disappear completely
I think we only need a net gain of 3 seats to take the House.
Any Republican candidate who will not explicitly state Biden is an illegitimate president should not be voted for.
They better keep that in mind.
I meet more people every day who share my nagging suspicion that Her Highness Nancy Pelosi is behind everything we’ve been through over the past year and a half.
After all, all it really takes to get a pandemic going is a few of your old pals in the WHO and the CDC who hate Donald Trump as much as you do making dire predictions, aided and abetted by your always-compliant congressional colleagues and an army of Democrat media you pretty much own outright.
Nancy certainly seems like the kind of person who would fire up a worldwide crisis just because Donald Trump injured her massive ego.
If they do, give Pelosi the Milton from “Office Space” treatment.
WOW! A real Nostra dumbass moment.
We’re already in “dire” mode. Next mode is imminent danger.
I agree with you. I have no confidence that we will have any candidates in any jurisdictions, that can win, considering the ability of Dems to manipulate the vote counts.
Redistricting alone could give Republicans control of the House in 2022, experts say
They are delusional. Republicans are going to lose seats in the house and the senate. There is zero reason to waste political resources on DC candidates when they don’t support us. Taking control at the state level is the only way forward. Nullify and codify DC out of our lives as the federal government is corrupt beyond repair.
