Antifa is the FBI’s farm team....you don’t even need a high school diploma to join.

I don’t agree with it all. But in major part yes. There are so many students wasting their time at college. And done get badly brainwashed too.

Yes, occasionally, like a broken clock.

He’s right about this...a real shame, because a college education used to be valuable. Now, I would think twice about hiring someone with a college degree...actually more than twice...given what they were taught at many institutions - people are made to be stupid by “higher education” these days.

“The answer isn’t to make college free, the answer is to make it more unnecessary, which it is for most jobs,” Maher stated.

Indeed it is...in fact, many jobs now requiring a "bachelor's degree" as a prerequisite did not previously require them. It's a generic requirement - they don't even care what the degree was for.

We could make a dent in the entire national debt by just taking the money from all the huge college endowment funds in this country.

I went to a few technical college programs and make rather well.

No student loans to ever contend with.

Maher has been moving to the right over the last few years. His speech on dangers of feminism is spot on. It’s on youtube.

In my final ten years in industry, I noticed an amazing drop in capability in the college graduates I interviewed. But the real indicator that college is no longer useful is that many of the professional job postings require a certificate from a private professional society, which is essentially a college level degree in whatever that society does, like the ASQC, American Society for Quality Control, or the PMP, Program Management Professional. These certificates can run into the thoudands of dollars and require a yearly course along with whatever it costs to be a member.
This is because colleges not only don’t teach what companies want, but the quality of the generic education is noticeably lacking. On top of this some of the top employers like Google and Facebook, are now saying they will give you a degree that they need and those courses are taught by people currently doing the jobs those companies want filled. They are saying, skip college and come to us and we’ll teach you want we need you to know. If you’ve already paid for college you will probably find you’ll need one of these specialty certificates in addition to your degree...which, I can tell you as an insider, is no longer accepted as an indicator of competence.

Colleges as we now know them are on their way out. I’d bet half of them will be gone in as little as ten years.

Colleges don’t even know what they are any more. They used to be a necessity when books and learned men were scarce. Now, however, they are merely places to get the piece of paper, party for several years, and/or be radicalized by communists. Today anyone who wants an education can access it easily online or by means of extensive reading. College is just the place upper-middle class people and rich people send their kids to meet other upper-middle class or rich people, and it’s because it’s what all their contemporaries do. If companies were smart (and they aren’t) they would take peopld out of high school and train them. College today is a waste of time and money.

This the reason Griggs v. Duke Power Co. Until that is re-litigated and a new USSC decision the “requirement” for a bs\ba when none is really needed will stand.

Once upon a time,... many moons ago, a high school diploma indicated that you could read, write and do some critical thinking. When that faded, a college degree indicated that you could read, write and perform critical thinking. Now that that era has passed the employer must determine whether
the applicant can perform any of those functions.

My solution. Upon graduation in June the 18 year olds enlist for a 14 month stay in the infantry. With that they get free tuition to a community college trade school on the trimester system. Throw in a 401k contribution along the way. 2-4 week breaks(only) between endeavors. To hell with the national service ideas. 4 year colleges? To hell with them.

Most every comment here is correct. The college/university system is a “dead man walking” and has been for years. Meanwhile institutions are busy making themselves even more irrelevant by dropping admission requirements, dumbing down courses, and turning themselves into vacation resorts.

I’m not sure how many colleges will exist in 20 years; the system has proven to be more venerable than it probably should be. But, eventually kids will have to wise up and see that paying $150,000 for an art history degree is a colossal waste of time and money.

The more money thrown at College the higher the cost gets. Simple supply and demand with taxpayers footing the bill. For the side that gets the money it’s a sweet deal. Nice racket if you can get a piece.
