I haven’t heard many who are saying that. What they ARE saying is that the Chinese were working with the virus in the lab and it somehow got out, which is what I and many others have been saying for over a year.
Are the Chinese working on bioweapons...absolutely.
Just because it originally came from the lab doesn’t mean it was man-made.
Right now 2 scientists, an Indian & a Brit are getting attention on social media by saying it was altered or modified.
All the genome sequencing done last year, said it wasn’t man made. Have the Chinese developed a way to trick or disguise a man-made virus from genome sequencing technology used worldwide? Scary, though I haven’t heard anyone say that they have.
The other questionable aspect is whether it was released on purpose or through mishandling, the latter being a not so uncommon problem in labs, especially in China. There have been rumors and speculation about the virus escaping the lab for over a year.
Clearly you've avoided or ignored the pathology of the genetic changes required for a bat virus to be so infectious to humans. It doesn't require a PhD either.
At the most basic layperson level, the greatest evidence that it's 'man-made' is the lack of ANY prior outbreak from other 'variants' of the virus as it changes >6 times to so easily infect humans.
The preponderance of evidence on that basis is that it was developed in a laboratory, and for one purpose:
Widespread infection. And somewhere I bet there is a mass grave of Chinese prisoners on whom it was tested.
Furthermore, the history of Mao's actions demonstrate that the CCP places little value on human life; 10s of millions of deaths 'for China' is nothing to them.
In addition, multiple sources now demonstrate that biowarfare against the United States was established CCP doctrine over a decade ago (you can find the posts on your own, if you look).
I believe, based upon sample studies showing SARS-CoV-2 infections worldwide much earlier than December 2019, that the WIV had a leak, researchers were infected (along with family) and the decision was made - ultimately, but not immediately, considering the nearly 2 month gap to 'outbreak' - to send infected travelers around the world and simply lock down Hubei Province, sacrificing potentially millions of Chinese to deflect the true origins of the outbreak so the CCP could point to Wuhan and say,
"See: We suffered, too."
