We’ve previously taken a look at the Gayest Cities in America and, to no one’s surprise, San Francisco checked in as the gayest city. What was surprising, to us at least, was the relatively low percentage of households that reported to the Census as gay in San Francisco — only ~2%.
Which got us thinking, if the gayest city in the country has a gay population that small, how small must the gay population be across America? Turns out, pretty small according to the census — only about 0.5% of households are male-male or female-female. But what states lead the pack when it comes to the gay population? Some parts of the country are more gay than others. States that are more liberal, and that are on the east and west coasts skew more gay. And as you might expect, the upper midwest and the south skew less gay.
I don’t deny your contention that homosexuality is highly over-estimated by leftist sources, but I was asking for a link to the Census that supported your contention of 0.5%. I can find it myself, but thought you’d have quick access to it.
Important point that omitted from the article you referenced..
“According to research, which asked actual Americans if they identify as LGBTQ, 4.5%, or about 1 in every 25 Americans says they are gay. That number has gone up over time — more and more Americans are coming out as gay.”
I’d personally believe that 4.5% number and suspect a larger sample size would come in with an even higher percentage.
Those of you who are still thinking the percentage is super low (like 0.5%) obviously haven’t been getting out much. Seems like every time I call somewhere the person answering the phone SOUNDS very gay/LGBTQXYZLMNOP. Ditto people in stores.
My own theory FWIW is that many kids nowadays are being told they can “choose” their sex and the percentage of people “identifying” as LGBTQXYZLMNOP is going up radically fast as a result.
Not sure as to the underlying purpose / agenda of those promoting all this, but it’s obviously being VERY promoted and pushed hard at kids nowadays..
Northampton ranks high because of all the lesbians. Smith College is there.
