The problem isn’t Moore.
The problem is all those senior people who backed Moore for leadership. The rot was there before Moore, he just gave a face to it.
“The problem is all those senior people who backed Moore for leadership.”
That is true to a certain extent, but the SBC is loosely organized and a small determined group can work its will more easily. It takes a strong effort to counter them. Liberals were thrown out about thirty years ago at a convention but true to Liberal ideology of never giving up, they wormed their way back in.
Agreed
I completely agree with you. Mohler is a big part of the problem.
If they don’t change soon many churches will leave the SBC because it went along with the other denominations who went liberal. I had a debate with a relative who is a female and is a deacon in he long ago woke baptist church. She was upset with her pastor on Facebook talking about leaving beer and pizza for Santa, celebrating drinking his first beer when the town went wet and going anti-cop on our small town police force because that’s what BLM demands. This church already has women deacons, pastors, gay marriage and in church leadership positions.
My response to her was why are you upset with his latest when everything else has been given a pass, there is no camel’s nose under the tent, the whole camel and his family are sitting in the center ring. Why be concerned about anything at this point everything is acceptable so you have a social club more than a church. She didn’t like it but expressed interest in my small but growing church, but was upset they didn’t allow women pastors or deacons but was genuinely surprised we had women on the board of directors, Sunday school directors and even a choir leader. I think her old time religion parents and the Spirit are working on her to find a new home.
