Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wisc.) said Thursday that he is still “undecided” on whether he'll run for reelection next year.
"I'm undecided," Johnson, who said he was only going to be a two-term senator, said at the Milwaukee Press Club, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
"When I made that pledge, I meant that pledge," he added. "I ran in 2010 because I was panicked for this nation. I'm more panicked today."
Former President Trump has encouraged Johnson to run for a third term.
“He is brave, he is bold, he loves our Country, our Military, and our Vets. He will protect our Second Amendment, and everything else we stand for. It is the kind of courage we need in the U.S. Senate. He has no idea how popular he is,” Trump said in April. “Run, Ron, Run!”
Johnson has been a big supporter of the former president and continues to push Trump’s "America First" agenda.
"The America First agenda is embraced by an awful lot of Americans," Johnson said Thursday.
Johnson said he won't do anything to risk a Democrat taking his seat, but has not said when he will announce his decision, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
Back in April, Johnson said it would be his “preference” to step down and he would be “happy to go home.”
Good news. Looks like he is thinking about running again.
One of the only decent senators (in my opinion) and if he doesn't run some leftist will win the seat.
Yep. We need his seat even just for numbers. It’s going to be very hard to keep pennsyvania. This seat would be just as difficult if an open seat.
He’s been acting like he is running. I would be very surprised if he didn’t run.
I think PA will be a hold. I don’t see them electing that psychotic Cro-Magnon Stalinazi thug Fetterman as Senator.
Fingers crossed!
If Johnson is the only conservative in the entire state of Wisconsin who can keep this senate seat then the Wisconsin GOP is in sad shape. Better that Johnson keep his pledge and work to elect a solid replacement.
We have two good announced candidates for the senate, Kathy Barnett a conservative black woman, and Sean Parnell, an ex military, very conservative guy that won {but had his seat stolen} in Allegheny County by conner lamb and the DemonRATs in this last election.
I'll be watching when/if they debate.
Lou Barletta is running for gubbernor but if the voting rigging system in PA isn't cleaned up before next year, no pubbie has a prayer.
I've been a poll watcher for over 20 years, and have seen a load of fraud, but 2020 was the granddaddy of all poll thefts.
That election made the Brinks robbery look like cracking a piggy bank.
This was not the first Presidential election that the demonRATs stole, but is was the most blatant and most covered up by the media.
I hope you are right. They did vote for him as LT Gov so.....who knows.
He ran on the ticket with the Governor, not separately elected (except in the Dem primary).
Oh. Thanks. I hope Pennsylvania has learned their lesson having liberals in charge. That gas tax alone should be a wake up. Time will tell.
Give Ron a holler.
If he doesn’t run were screwed. He has to run. If there’s no fight in him why should we fight? No one wants to take it for the team. No core values.
Tough decision. At some point you have to decide if you want to retire and put all that campaign cash in your pocket tax free or, run again and have to start asking for donations again for the next time.
Again and again? Those seats are good for 6 years. Nice work if you can get it.
Johnson is one of the few decent Senators.
I hope he runs again despite his pledge.
Rubio, Hoeven and any other Senator that supports amnesty need to be replaced, even if they are endorsed by Trump.
I am hoping Pa. Can overcome the pink hat liberals in my county and those others around Philly.
I am not worried about voters, pink hats or not, I do worry about the vote counters and methods of voting.
