I hated “roundabouts” when I was driving in Europe during my 2 tours in Germany and I hate them here in the US as well.

I hated “roundabouts” when I was driving in Europe during my 2 tours in Germany and I hate them here in the US as well.

I was stationed outside of a metro area in Germany, at Hahn and Spangdahlem ABs, so roundabouts weren't much of a concern. Traffic, in general, wasn't much of a concern either.

My 28 mile commute to Spangdahlem from my apartment in Traben-Trarbach had exactly one traffic light. The few times I was nailed for speeding in a town, I paid the fine on the spot...20 Deutschemarks. I loved that drive, it took me through the Urziger Wurzgarten vineyards. All in all, a very pleasant 40 minute drive.
