Indeed, my own wife, who has been fully vaccinated, and does lean to the left, is still sympathetic to stores and organizations who request masks. She will remove it for work, and church, where the majority of people do not wear them anymore. But at places like Target, which has a sign that recommends masks, she will comply.

Having been married for thirty years, and expecting to remain in that marriage, I have chosen not to make a big deal of her reluctance to toss the mask. However, I have made it very clear that I am not going to pretend that masks are anything more than a type of psychological manipulation, and have been from the outset of the pandemic.
