Tuesday’s special election to represent New Mexico’s 1st District in Congress is just one race. No matter who wins — likely the Democratic candidate Melanie Stansbury — control of Congress won’t change.
Yet, this race will also be one of our first insights into the political environment a little more than four months into President Joe Biden’s administration. Federal special elections, as a group, usually give us a fairly good idea how midterms are going to go.

How much cheating are the Democrats going to do?
As much as they need to.
The media is gaslighting here. This is a deep blue district that has trended further blue in recent years. They are using this as the barometer because they know what result it will show.
Notice we didn’t see any of these stories about TX-6, where the GOP did much better than expected and locked out the Democrats.
This is pure media propaganda.
BTW Harry Enten is a libtard leftist Twatter hack. He sings a one note tune to his Soros daddy master.
Aren’t they all?
The Demonrats have a full-blown Hamas-supporting terrorist Stalinazi loon candidate in this formerly Republican district. Hopefully, Albuquerque will wake up and send evil packing.
This was a 60-37 Biden District and a 61-39 Grisham district.
It isn’t remotely competitive. The media is trying to paint a far left deep blue district as a barometer for 2022.
They’re setting up the narrative for when they rig the 2022 elections.
This isn’t a far-left district. It does lean Demonrat, but not so much it is absolutely gone (70% Demonrat would be another story).
I don’t believe Plugs the Pedo got 60% in this district. I think you can cut 10% right off of that just out of the box. I expect it was more like 50-47%, with the White loons (I have family there in this district and can attest to the lunacy) putting it over and rising support from Hispanics for Trump and the GOP. From 1969-89, this seat sent a Hispanic Native American Republican in Manuel Lujan, Jr.
NM has Demonrat voter fraud. This district was electing Republicans downballot with regularity until recently (and ABQ had a GOP Mayor). There IS a chance the GOP could get it back depending upon turnout, especially when the Demonrats nominate an absolute psychotic supporter of terrorism.
Lastly, as is well known here, I don’t use those post-2000 media newspeak colors. Red is the party of Satanic Stalinazism, the Demonrats. Blue is the party of Conservatism. We don’t call Communist China BLUE China, so why do we call Republicans “Reds” ? I strongly urge ALL Conservatives to stop using colors falsely foisted on us to disassociate the party of totalitarianism with its international brethren.
let’s boycott this one, too. that’ll show ‘em. plus, it will make the unhappy people on FR unhappy, which is the only thing that makes them happy.
You can see the leftward trend in this district since 2000. 1 point in 2000, 2 points in 2004, 20 points in 2008, 15 points in 2012, 17 points in 2016, 17 points in 2018 (senate) 22 points in 2018 (Governor.)
The last time this was close was 2010. It’s never been less than double digits for the rats since then.
I’m sorry, but those are the facts.
boycott! boycott! I’m sure the republican is a lousy rino steal allowing globalist bush league republican swamp flooder.
boycott! boycott!
holy crap. something weird going on there. when was that district redrawn?
I’d love to see an upset! If the R won, I’d wonder what the headlines would say... 😀
If I didn’t believe the GOP had a remote shot here, I wouldn’t bother replying. They do. Special elections can bring surprises. My only concern is the level of fraud the Demonrat machine here will gin up. If the Demonrat doesn’t receive 60% (the fraud number), that will be a warning sign for the coming year.

They voted for the destruction of prosperity simply because of mean tweets. Let them burn in hell
They redrew the map in 2011. The redistricting commission had an 11-7 Rat majority. The map they drew was a gerrymander.
They removed much of the Valencia County portions and dumped more of Albuquerque proper into the district.
