SARS-CoV-2′s claimed natural origin is undermined by issues with genome sequences of its relative strains

RaTG13, MP789, and RmYN02 are the strains closest to SARS-CoV-2, and their existence came to light only after the start of the pandemic. Their genomes have been used to support a natural origin of SARS-CoV-2 but after a close examination all of them exhibit several issues. We specifically address the presence in RmYN02 and closely related RacCSxxx strains of a claimed natural PAA/PVA amino acid insertion at the S1/S2 junction of their spike protein at the same position where the PRRA insertion in SARS-CoV-2 has created a polybasic furin cleavage site. We show that RmYN02/RacCSxxx instead of the claimed insertion carry a 6-nucleotide deletion in the region and that the 12-nucleotide insertion in SARS-CoV-2 remains unique among Sarbecoviruses. Also, our analysis of RaTG13 and RmYN02's metagenomic datasets found unexpected reads which could indicate possible contamination. Because of their importance to inferring SARS-CoV-2′s origin, we call for a careful reevaluation of RaTG13, MP789 and RmYN02 sequencing records and assembly methods.

“It would’ve been almost a dereliction of our duty if we didn’t study this, and the only way you can study these things is, you’ve gotta go where the action is.”

That was none other than Dr. Anthony Fauci, during a May 25 House Appropriations subcommittee hearing. Joe Biden’s chief medical advisor was referring to “research in collaboration with our Chinese colleagues” on bat coronaviruses. “So we had a modest collaboration with very respectable Chinese scientists who were world experts on coronavirus,” and sent them a grant of $600,000, part of a larger grant of some $3.7 million, channeled through something called the Eco-Health Alliance.

Doug and Dinsdale Piranha are the terrors of British gangland. A reporter (Terry Jones) asks Stig O’Tracey (Eric Idle) if Dinsdale nailed his head to the floor. When O’Tracey furiously denies it, the reporter explains that the police have actual film of Dinsdale Piranha nailing Stig’s head to the floor.

“Oh yeah, he did that, yeah,” Stig concedes. “Well he had to, didn’t he? I mean, be fair, there was nothing else he could do.” And according to Stig, “he didn’t want to nail my head to the floor. I had to insist. He wanted to let me off. There’s nothing Dinsdale wouldn’t do for you.”

In similar style, Fauci had been denying financial support for the Wuhan lab, but now that it’s apparent, he says it would have been almost a “dereliction of duty” not to do it. And there’s nothing “our colleagues,” those “respectable Chinese scientists” in a genocidal Communist dictatorship wouldn’t do for America.

Fauci still denies that the money was for “gain of function” research, which according to the Office of Science Policy at the National Institutes of Health, can “enhance the pathogenicity or transmissibility of potential pandemic pathogens (PPPs)” and raise “biosafety and biosecurity concerns.”

Back in 2012, Fauci raised safety concerns about gain-of-function research, which the NIH banned in 2014 but revived in 2017. The NIAID boss authorized grants to the Wuhan lab, where gain-of-function research could be conducted in secret, with no accountability to Americans.

Fauci last week didn’t explain what sort of research the respectable Chinese colleagues did perform at the Wuhan lab. By all indications, it wasn’t aimed at reducing the lethality and transmissibility of viruses, what might be called “loss of function” research.

In addition to the U.S. taxpayer dollars sent through Fauci, the WIV received shipments of deadly pathogens from a lab in Canada by Dr. Xiangguo Qiu. These pathogens included Ebola Makona, Mayinga, Kikwit, Ivory Coast, Bundibugyo, Sudan Boniface, Sudan Gulo, MA-Ebov, GO-Ebov, GP-Sudan, Henra, Nipah Malaysia, and Nipah Bagladesh. No word from Fauci what the respectable Chinese scientists did with all that raw viral material.

In recent days, Fauci claimed he is “not convinced” COVID-19 developed naturally. By contrast, Fauci on March 28 told Margaret Brennan of CBS News that “most emerging human viruses come from wildlife,” and “there is no evidence that suggests the virus was created in a laboratory.” The most likely explanation, Fauci said, was that the COVID-19 virus “in nature, in the wild, it adapted itself.” For embattled Americans, the shift should come as no surprise.

Fauci earned a medical degree in 1966 but his bio shows no advanced degrees in molecular biology or biochemistry. Strictly speaking, he is not a virologist. Fauci has headed the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) since 1984 and he is currently the highest-paid bureaucrat in the entire federal government. With a salary of $417,608, Fauci is paid more than the president of the United States but has never had to face the voters. This is the man most responsible for shutting down the country while showing little, if any, sympathy for the misery he caused.

Fauci now claims to welcome an investigation of China’s role in the pandemic. Investigators should release all NIH and NIAID communications with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and any intermediary agencies, public or private. Did the NIH, NIAID, CDC, WHO, and those respectable Communist scientists at the Wuhan lab agree on messaging? What did Fauci know, and when did he know it?

The NIAID boss, now 80, is long overdue for a full colonoscopy. With Memorial Day coming up, people should know about Fauci’s experience in “dereliction of duty.”

Back in 1966, the government was drafting newly minted doctors for military hospitals in Vietnam. Instead of treating wounded American soldiers, Fauci hired on in 1968 with the NIH as one of the “Yellow Berets” with a cushy government job. More than 50 years later, this “deep state fraud” is the face of white-coat supremacy in America.
